Placement Types
Neuwo's advertisements come in categories called placement types. Each ad on a page is a placement, and each placement is configured to fit one of these categories.
Placements compared with placement types
A placement is simply a box, an instance where an advertisement is to be shown. There is a lot of logic behind it, but to the reader it appears as an ad or a banner. Placements themselves have little or no knowledge of what type they are.
A placement type controls how the placement is connected to the page, how it is shown and hidden, and how it behaves through its lifecycle.
Types
Under Image
Sits below media content, where it is highly visible. Ideal for monetising images and videos, and a top performer on both mobile and desktop.
In-Line
Placed between article paragraphs, which makes it ideal for long content. It supports both video and display ads, so fill and revenue potential stay high. This type suits anywhere content flows vertically, sidebars included.
Interstitial
A full-screen, high-impact ad that appears during natural breaks in the content. It obscures the whole screen, much like a modal dialog, so the page behind it cannot be used until the reader closes it, which they can do shortly after it appears. Highly engaging, and it works across mobile, tablet and desktop.
In-Screen
An adhesion placement at the bottom of the screen that stays in view as the reader scrolls. It complements in-content ads well, particularly on mobile, because it keeps the ad continuously visible.
Top In-Screen
An adhesion ad that stays at the top of the screen as the reader scrolls. It maximises visibility without disrupting the reading experience, and is effective on both mobile and desktop.
Vertical In-Screen
A sticky placement along the side of the screen, which stays visible while the reader scrolls. Suits mobile and desktop alike, and maximises exposure without interfering with reading.
Corner
An adhesive placement in the lower corner of the page, left or right. It supports video and display ads, and boosts viewability while staying unintrusive.
Double Medrec
Runs on two separate demand stacks and supports a range of creative formats. One placement, two chances to fill, so it can double the revenue potential of a single position.
